Meet Barbara

Barbara Bell, C.A. and Associates

I am Barbara Bell, the president and founder of Barbara Bell, C.A. and Associates, an accounting firm specializing in final tax returns and testamentary trusts.  I am a chartered accountant and hold a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of BC and a Masters degree in Applied Behavioral Sciences.

Over the years, I have worked in a variety of business areas including investing, finance and administration, human resources, legal services, personal development programs and health.  I have worked with many organizations such as KPMG, Odlum Brown Ltd., Legal Services Society of BC, The L.M. Vermeulen Group Inc., Elizabeth Bagshaw Women’s Clinic, Naramata Centre and the REACH Community Health Centre, to name a few.

My clients recognize me as a practical, hands-on professional who can identify the issues, formulate the strategies in challenging and diverse situations, and get the needed results. It is important to me that my clients are at ease when working with me, and I facilitate this with my quiet approach and sense of humour. I combine my knowledge of the current tax legislation and my understanding of the emotional process of grieving to help executors reduce taxes on final returns and testamentary trust returns, thereby reducing the client’s stress in dealing with Revenue Canada.
